Thank you for stopping by and sharing your concern. @Semiotic the irony is that you are using translation of people who have gone astray from the real teaching of Quran and Prophet. I encourage you put up that question to them and not us Ahmadi Muslims who condemn such brutal acts and do not consider such views to have any source in Islam.

And if you want to read what the actual teaching of Holy Quran is, and what Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him) said and how he practically showed us by acting on it, you'll have to go to the source instead of relying on second hand sources. The verse in question is discussed in this FoxNews article as well that explains Ahmadiyya Muslim view:

Islam and the Quran Require Us to Honor, Not Abuse, Women

I am confused. I had just finished reading this translation:
Sura 4:34,

-- copy / paste of pseudo scholars

Can you explain why the prophet says one thing- and you say another?

One has only to consider the wording of this Draconian law introduced by the Pakistan dictator Zia Al-Haq to understand how harsh and unislamic it really is, specifying death without any opportunity given for the offender to repent for Use of derogatory remarks etc in respect of the holy Prophet (PBUH) by word, either spoken or written. Or by visible representation, or by importation, innuendo or insinuation, directly or indirectly, defiling the sacred name of the holy Prophet (PBUH).

It is certainly true that our beloved Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) ordered political assassinations of those men and women who lampooned him mercilessly, but this we must bear in mind was a time when Islam was still in a rather weak position politically. Such assassinations were justifiable as they were done for the greater good of the community. However we also know that the Prophet was magnanimous in victory and we have at least one occasion where an offender who had been marked for liquidation was forgiven by the Prophet when she sought his forgiveness. Indeed numerous are the occasions when the Prophet forgave even his most sworn enemies. To incorporate a political reality existing at one time into legislation and making it into an oppressive law that does not give an option for the offender to repent is far from Islamic and is reminiscent of the tribal and intolerant ways of the Jews. This harsh law needless to say is also abused to settle rivalries and victimize minority communities, especially Christians who enjoy a high status in Islam.

As such we may ask could a law like this be the work of a true Muslim or an enemy of Islam keen on ridiculing this noble faith in the eyes of the world. Looking back this is exactly what the madman and insecure American puppet known as Zia-ul-Haq accomplished. His very death testifies with whom his loyalties lay. Even when Zia died, it was in the company of the greatest enemies of Islam – the US military. When Zia-ul Haq’s plane blew up on August 19, 1988, it killed him along with the American ambassador to Pakistan Arnold Raphel and the head of the US military mission General Herbert M. Wassom. Another theory would have it that Zia on account of a retarded daughter he had, sought to retard his entire nation with a rather perverse and perverted interpretation of Islam the likes of which were never seen in the history of Islam which is a universal message of mercy. Be it as it may, the man succeeded in putting Pakistan many centuries back and ridiculing Islam in the eyes of the world. What could be a greater blasphemy ? we may ask.

Truly is it said that the evil men do live after them. Zia despite his ignoble death is survived by his children, the misled extremists of his country belonging to heretical sects like the Barelwi to which sect the killer of the Punjabi Governor belonged. The killer Qadri who was assigned to protect the Governor said he killed him because he had turned ‘apostate’ by opposing the blasphemy law and giving protection to a Christian woman Asia Bibi who had been sentenced to death for the offence Those extremists supporting the killer are said to have declared that he “fulfilled his duties as a Muslim”. So now killing fellow Muslims seems to have become the “duty” of Muslims according to these fanatics. It’s a pity they have not read the Quranic verse that lays down that anybody who intentionally kills a believer will abide in hell. (Qur’an 4: 93). What an evil end.

It is no doubt the emergence of bigots like these that our beloved Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) warned us about: “Beware of extremism in religion because the only thing that destroyed those before you was extremism in religion” (Ibn Majah and Nasai). The Prophet also declared: “The Mutanatti’ūn are destroyed”, repeating it three times (Abu Dawud). As Al-Nawawī explains, “The ‘Mutanatti’ūn’ are the overly-strict people, those who go too deep (into religious matters), the extremists, those who go beyond the permissible limits in their statements and actions”.

Indeed, these extremist elements of Pakistan are strangely reminiscent of the Kharjites, that heretical group that emerged in the early days of Islam as a thorn on the side of the early Islamic community. These rebels numbering several thousands separated themselves from the rest of the community and elected as their ruler one Abdullah Ibn Wahb Al-Rasibi known for his fervour in reciting the Qur’an and who was nicknamed Dhu al-Thafanat (the one whose kneecaps appeared like two humps of a camel because of the intense and extended nature of his prostration in prayer). The rebellion eventually degenerated into open hostilities against the larger Muslim community and the killing of innocents, among the first victims of the rebellion being Abdullah ibn Khabbab al-Aratt, one of the governors of Ali, who along with his pregnant wife, was hacked to death by the mob.

The basic dogma of this heretical sect appears not to have been built upon the teachings of Islam, but on Takfir or charging with unbelief all those who disagreed with them on any theological issues and the right to kill them with impunity. It was no doubt of extremist outfits such as this that our Holy Prophet (PBUH) stated: "My Ummat is destined to differ and be divided. So a group will arise whose talks will sound very good but their character will be misleading. They will read the Quran but it will not descend below their throats (just oral reading). They will leave Deen just as an arrow pierces and goes right through the prey. They will not return to Islam. They are the worst of creation because of their nature and constitution. They will call the people towards the Quran and Deen whilst in reality they will have nothing to do with Islam. Whoever will confront them, he will be the most beloved servant of Allah” (reported by Anas).

How strangely similar indeed. Rebellion against established authority, suicide bombings of innocents which has almost become a daily occurrence in this lawless country, charging with unbelief those who disagree with their views and even the killing of a governor. It is clear that the so-called ‘Islamic’ extremists of Pakistan are the Kharjites of the modern age.

It is high time the Pakistan government decided enough is enough and enforced a final solution to this evil. Appeasement is not the answer as it would only embolden these mischief makers as proven time and again. For those who do not respect human rights, there can be no rights. Deal with them like the early caliphs dealt with them – Ruthlessly. Introduce harsh punishments like cross amputation and crucifixion which the Qur’an lays down for criminals such as these to give it Islamic legitimacy and start with Qadri. Label them as heretics, as the Kharjites of the modern age and deal with them accordingly.

That is perhaps the only way to wipe out this scourge and redeem the good name of Islam!

I am writing this to encourage the authorities of Indonesian government to give equal rights to all his citizen. I condemn this horrific and barbarous attack on innocent Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, in Indonesia in a very strong term. This is a very sad incident; the authorities have no power to control the Mob? It is your utmost duty to keep peace, controll violance and all kind of criminal activities.
President Obama lauded Indonesia for its religious freedom in November 2010, and Indonesia’s own constitution promises religious freedom. If Indonesia’s government claiming it self a Muslim Country than they should know that Allah says in Holy Quran,“Whosoever killed a person — unless it be for killing a person or for creating disorder in the land — it shall be as if he had killed all mankind; and whoso gave life to one, it shall be as if he had given life to all mankind. (Ch.5, verse 33)
The Mob was claiming that we are Muslim, we Love and respect The Holy prophet Mohammad (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) but their actions are totally against of his teaching and his practice. What is happening in that country in the name of Islam? Is this the teaching of Islam to kill innocent peoples? Islam is religion of peace, love and tolerance. Are they forgetting the life of our Beloved, Respected Holy Prophet (peace & blessing of Allah be upon him). What he did at the time of the conquest of Mecca, how he treated his enemies.. Did he not forgave every one that day even the woman name Hinda who disrespect the dead body of Hazrat Hamza. Is there any example of his revenge to any human being? He was the mercy for all mankind (Rahmat-ul-lilalami) May Allah give Indonesian Muslims wisdom and strength to fight against the falsehood and follow the true teaching of Islam.

Why do non-Ahmadi Muslims, who leave comments here, cannot even present one verse of the Holy Quran and tradition (Hadith) of the Holy Prophet(saw) that says Jesus Son of Mary (as) will lose his prophethood and will not be a prophet?

The answer is obvious!

You have to read these blog posts as well before jumping to conclusion

2) Khatam-e-Nabuwwat – Who is Last Prophet? Holy Prophet or Jesus son of Mary? http://rationality.ca/?p=90

It is quite sad state of affairs of non-Ahmadi Muslims. When you present them verses of the holy Quran they do not pay any attention to them but start talking about something else. For example when you tell them Holy Quran clearly tells us that Jesus son of Mary is not alive and died like all other prophets and human beings they will reject all verses of the Holy Quran by saying that since Ahadith say Jesus will come so he must be the old one and still alive. It is quite sad that non-Ahmadi Muslims do not have any regard for the words of Allah. This is why their was the need of Mahdi and Messiah to bring Muslims back closer to Allah and His Words.

And when they talk about Ahadith they will also selectively talk about them, whereas Ahadith also tell us clearly that the Jesus which was to come in the Muslim Ummah is not the old one. Ahadith talk about the physical appearance of old Jesus son of Mary and the Jesus which was to come in the Ummah as completely different persons.

Alas only few pay heed to the call of Allah.

Good for Rahmatullah Kairanvi. I'm sure there are many great scholars in Islam who have debated with Christians over the history and still do. But what happened after the public debate with Pfander? Did Rahmatullah Kairanvi initiate any movement to start converting Christians to Islam? Did he also claim that he is the Messiah appointed by God? Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (peace be on him) not only claimed that he is the Messiah, he also challenged everyone to see the signs shown in his favour by Allah because he was appointed by Allah on this status. You can read the details of many such signs in his biography (www.alislam.org) that drew people towards him in great numbers and accepted him and are still accepting him in millions each year from all around the world including Christians. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community founded by him is at the forefront of the real Jihad of spreading peaceful teachings of Islam to the world.

2 = 2 is a simple mathematic fact but if one insists on not accepting 2 = 2 then that shows one's moral and mental bankruptcy.

yeah, I get it that prophecies are metaphor.. but what you do is you put two and two together, you are justifying what mr Mirza Ghulam Ahmad did with the prophecy..

... M. Rahmatullah Kairanvi broke the doctrine of Christianity too. He even held a public debate in which Pfander (the Christian representative) chose to withdraw from the debate..

This prophecy is indeed metaphorical otherwise it will become a joke that a prophet of Allah travels around the world breaking crosses physically while Christians keep on making new crosses. If you read the books written by Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (a.s.) you'll see that the Cross which represents Christian Beliefs has been broken. Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (a.s.) has presented such irrefutable arguments against the doctrines of Christianity such as atonement etc. that anyone who reads them with pure mind will have no doubt left in the truthful teachings of Islam, Holy Quran and Holy Prophet (saw). A sample of this is available in June 2010 eGazette – Islam and Christianity

Peace ya all..

If Mr Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is the Messiah which was prophesied by the Messenger s.a.w., did Mr Mirza Ghulam Ahmad fulfill those prophecies?

Let's just start with one prophecy. The Messiah shall break the cross. What does this means? literally, or metaphorically? either way, how did Mr Mirza Ghulam Ahmad fulfill this prophecy?

I hope you can shed some light.

Allah knows best!

Silence will bear testimony
Why the 2nd amendment must be repealed.
Maqasid al shariah (the objective of Islamic law) are falah (welfare) and hayat-e-tayyabah (good life) for a member of the community. When contemporary Islamic zealots argue for the politicization of this divine vision of Islamic state, they define the Islamic state as that which implements Islamic law. Islamic law is divine and Allah Subhan wa tallah does not need the consent of this band of bandits. They insist on imposing their own interpretations of divine law without consent or consensus. The irony of this reality is that in seeking to impose Islamic law and create an Islamic state, they are actually in direct opposition to the spirit and letter of the Quran. Quran is very explicit when it says “there is no compulsion in religion”(2:256). Quran encourages Jews to live by the laws revealed to them in Torah. In fact the Quran expresses surprise that some Jews sought arbitration of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) rather than their own legal tradition (5:34). The Quran also orders Christians to live by their faith. “so let the people of the gospel judge by that which Allah has revealed therein, for he who judges not by that which Allah has revealed is a sinner”(5:47). From these verses it is very clear that an Islamic state must advocate religious pluralism even to the extent of permitting multiple legal systems.
As we continue to refer to Ahmadi mosques as Marakaz and ibadatgahs, we must remind ourselves of the views of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah who relied heavily on the Ahmadi community and its brilliant son Ch. Zafarullah Khan (whose brother was killed in the recent genocide in Lahore). Jinnah not only considered Ahmadis Muslims but relied heavily on them to provide the manpower and skilled intellectual force in their efforts on behalf of the Muslims of India. As a secular liberal Jinnah could not imagine how someone who considered himself Muslim could be called something else. He said: “I have been asked a disturbing question, as to who among the Muslims can be a member of the Muslim Conference. It has been asked with particular reference to the Ahmadis. My reply is that, as far as the constitution of the All-India Muslim League is concerned, it stipulates that any Muslim, without distinction of creed or sect, can become a member, provided he accepts the views, policy and program of the Muslim League.” Mr. M. A. Sabir tried as hard as he could to persuade the Quaid to declare Ahmadis as being out of the folds of Islam, but the Quaid said with full resolution: “what right do I have to declare a person non-Muslim, when he claims to be a Muslim.”

The society of Pakistan has its genesis in a polity of cultural, religious and ethnic traditions which has a strong democratic base. Islam in this region of the world did not spread through the might of the sword. It is a historical fact that Islam took root in this region through the positive example set by an an inclusive non-political approach of the sufia karam. They were actually the harbingers of a society of equality and respect for all faiths and beliefs. As bulleh shah said,
Bulla, ki jaana main kaun
Bulla, ki jaana main kaun
Na main moman vich maseetan
Na main vich kufar dian reetan
Na main pakan vich paleetan
Na main andar bhed kitaban
Na main rehnda bhaang sharaban
Na main rehnda mast kharaban
Na main shadi na ghamnaki
Na main vich paleetan pakeen
Na main aaabi na main khaki
Na main aatish na paun
Bulla ki jaana main kaun
Na main arabi na lahori
Na main hindi shehar nagaori
Na hindu na turk pashauri
Na main bhet mazhab de paya
Na main aadam hawwa jaya
Na koi apna naam dharaya
Avval-aakhar aap nu jana
Na koi dooja hor pacchana
Maithon na koi har syana
Bulle shauh Kharha hai kaun
Bulla ki jaana main kaun
After the brutal partition of 1971, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto sought support and sustenance in Middle East – specifically in Saudi Arabia – and one of the channels of that ideology was Maulana Maududi’s Jamaat-i Islami and Ahmadiyyat was a central issue for them. They had been re-buffed in the 1950s and 1960s by sternly secular governments but in Bhutto, though himself a non-practitioner, they finally found a workable ally. The amendment to Article 260 of the 1973 Constitution declared Ahmadis non-Muslim, and the Second Amendment in 1974 (under Zia regime) further defined this.

I fail to understand that why are these self-proclaimed contractors of Islam given the space in which they are not only bringing a bad name to our religion of peace and salvation but also why are our political and civil institutions shying away from questioning the self-imposed sacred cows? These fanatics of religious hegemony are not only bringing us shame by violating rights of civility, humanity, gender and minority equality but also smearing our religion by presenting it as exclusive, in utter contrast to the true inclusive spirit of Islam. I believe it is our duty as sensible, responsible and god-fearing Muslims to stop these fanatics from annihilating our space as custodians for civil and human rights in our society. We will be responsible in Allah’s court of judgment for not standing up against these usurpers of peace, these fasadis who are playing a game of make belief by deceiving the impressionable that they have the authority to give the sanction of being a Muslim to some and not to others. They have through their political gimmickry forced our rulers in the past to declare our Ahmadi brothers and sisters as non-Muslims. If we do not rectify our mistake, the day is not far when they will force us to declare our shia brothers and sisters as heretics and then deobandis will want to declare barelvis non-Muslims and ahle-hadiths will threaten that those who do not subscribe to their brand of Islam are wajib-ul-qatl. I fail to understand why the 2nd amendment cannot be repealed from the constitution of this country that we all call our homeland – our Pakistan.
I am a Sunni Muslim Pakistani and I know any words of apologies, repentance or any justification for what happened in the Ahmadi mosques is not enough. This and all that has been done to our Ahmadi brothers and sisters on the name of a socio-political power play more than an open hearted tolerant discourse of religious beliefs is unpardonable. What happened in Lahore cannot be justified under any religious doctrine. I apologies on behalf of majority of Muslim men and women of this country and tell u that the loss of life in this inhuman incidence is neither less nor in anyway justified… Just as the lives lost anywhere else in Pakistan, be it Parade Lane, Ashura or Gojra. May Allah give all of you the strength to bear the loss and may Allah be with us all.

AHMADIS ARE EQUAL CITIZENS OF PAKISTAN, NOT ALIENS WHO HAVE BEEN SUBJECTED TO CONSISTENT ILL TREATMENT FOR THE LAST 34 YEARS DUE TO PPP MADE LAWS, DESERVE OPEN APPOLOGY FROM THE PPP

One of the blunders of the PPP government was to declare Ahmadis non-Muslims through in-camera National Assembly sessions in 1974 thereby making them 3rd class citizens and in follow up through various amendments in law they were subjected to consistent ill treatment for the last 34 years. They suffer from constitutional persecution and discrimination due to their religious beliefs.
Several Ahmadi citizens have been attacked and killed, their honour was lowered while their properties were burnt, looted and vandalized. The history is repeating itself in Pakistan but is an eye opener for the right thinking only.
The PPP government though claims credit for this matter but truth remains that this was the greatest blunders of the PPP and millions of Ahmadis deserve open apology for this blunder meted out to them.
The history will not forgive the PPP for this blunder. Blunder remains a blunder whatever name one may give to it to claim credit because all right thinking people in Pakistan and abroad call it a blunder of the PPP followed by excesses by General Zia. They should seek forgiveness from God and to Ahmadis I call upon the PPP leaders. They may reject my suggestion and laugh at me. This is my personal view as a human rights lawyer.

THE SO CALLED 90 YEARS QADIANI PROBLEM RESOLUTION CLAIMED BY THE PPP OF ZARDARI. PUBLISH THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE 1974 NATIONAL ASSEMBLY IN ITS ORIGINAL FORM TO MARK THE GREAT VICTORY
Muzaffar Mansoor Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales

It was the 7th September 1974 when the Government of PPP in collaboration with Mullahs of Khatme Nabuwwat passed a bill through the then National Assembly to declare Ahmadis, also known as Qadianis of Pakistan as non Muslims for the purposes of constitution and law. There was serious interrogation took place for many days in the National Assembly of the then head of the Ahmadi Community Mirza Nasir Ahmad along with his entourage. All big time Mullahs did participate in the proceedings.
At the end of the historic proceedings the National Assembly unanimously passed the bill to declare Ahmadis as non Muslims. There was a remarkable victory claimed by the then Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto of the PPP to resolve the so called 90 years problem.
The 34 years have been passed no government has courage to publish the proceedings of this remarkable victory to let the people of Pakistan know the realities of the proceedings which became the basis of the historic sacred victory of the PPP.
The PPP government is once again in power now. Let us ask from the government of Mr Zardai and Mr Gilani to order the publication of the 1974 historic proceedings of the National Assembly. It will be again a sacred service of the Pakistani people. The reluctance exhibited by the successive governments not to publish these sacred proceedings since 1974 is indicative of negative view by some of the critics about the whole episode. Make them wrong.
